Lights, Camera, and Leafy Greens
We are excited to share a special video with you that was released this week by Deere & Co. featuring the people and work of Tapestry Farms.
For the past year, a film crew has been working behind the scenes documenting our journey to expand our capacity to grow food — year-round, hydroponically, inside of a refurbished shipping container. We are deeply thankful to the Deere Foundation, as well as additional partners, the Quad Cities Botanical Center, the city of Rock Island, and Freight Farms, for all of the pieces necessary to make this long-held dream come true.
If you click on the video below, you'll see a beautiful expression of our mission. As a longtime supporter of Tapestry Farms and a fellow Quad Citian, we hope what you see makes you smile and that you'll watch it with a bit of pride, as it tells a story of what we can accomplish together.
For our team here at Tapestry Farms, seeing the planning, innovation, support, and hard work captured in this way is remarkable. We are investing in the Quad-Cities' local food systems and working to build the resiliency our community so desperately needs. We're working towards our goal of ensuring that every single last one of us in this community has not just enough to eat, but has easy, affordable access to nutrient-dense food vital for a thriving life. We know we're not doing this work alone — thank you for being a part of that effort.
